The Golden Visa is a program that grants a residence permit to investors who acquire real estate properties or make significant investments in the Region!
To qualify for a Golden Visa in Portugal, investors need to meet certain investment criteria, such as buying real estate with a minimum value or creating jobs in the country. The Golden Visa can lead to permanent residency and, possibly to citizenship, depending on the specific programme and the duration of the investment.

Investment Activities
Obtaining your Golden Visa can be done upon request and under the conditions of investments in real estate for housing purposes, tourism, commerce and services in the regions accepted for such, bank transfers, job creation and even investments in Research activities and even in cultural activities!
Currently, the application and application for Golden Visa in Portugal is only for the Island Regions of Madeira and Azores and some regions in the interior of Portugal.
The Amounts required for Investment are as follows:
- Invest €500,000 in Research Activities;
- Invest €500,000 in real estate. Value reduced to €400,000 if it is in a place with low population density;

Invest €350,000 in properties built over 30 years old, or located in an urban rehabilitation area. Value reduced to €280,000 if located in an area of low population density;

Invest €250,000 in Art, Culture and National Heritage;
- Creation of a company in Portugal with at least 10 full-time workplaces;

Capital transfer of 1.5 million euros to a Portuguese bank account;
- Transfer of capital in an amount equal to or greater than 500 000 euros, intended for the acquisition of participation units in investment funds or funds whose risk capital, with a view to the capitalization of companies incorporated in accordance with Portuguese law and whose term, at the time of the investment, it is at least 5 years and at least 60% of the value of the investments is made in commercial companies headquartered in the national territory;

Transfer of capital of an amount equal to or greater than 500 000 euros, intended for the incorporation of a commercial company with its head office in Portugal, combined with the creation of 5 permanent jobs, or for the reinforcement of the share capital of a commercial company with its head office in the territory incorporated, with the creation or maintenance of jobs, with a minimum of 5 permanent and a minimum period of 3 years.
